CANLYN Y CAMERA (following the camera) JANUARY 1990 Second diary of a Naturalist At the beginning of a year, many of us probably made resolutions that have now all been broken! New year's resolutions are like that - temporary things that are forgotten in no time. Not so the photographer's pictures - if you look after them properly, they last forever. From the Dolig press, came 'Canlyn y Camera' - Second diary of a naturalist…

On Friday night the children were at their best competing for the beautiful medals and cups. His singing partner was his brother Elwyn, and the boys used to sing in the woods at the back of Maes Gwndwn, Talsarnau. Elwyn appeared…

  • Great Flood 1927 -…

As the people of Ardudwy know as well as people in the U.S. of America who have seen it raining frogs before now, wind and water are a powerful combination. Certainly the people of Ardudwy have a right to continue talking about the storms of 1927, 1938 and 1939 as if they were important religious events. Every storm leaves its mark. Every storm comes and goes. But let us turn our sights to the storm…

RECOLLECTIONS of the late Mrs M Jones, 9 Cilfor, Llandecwyn YR HEN EFAIL UCHA' - Old pictures in the Llais Ardudwy calendar bring many fond memories for me, especially the picture of the old Eisingrug forge or the 'Yr Efail Ucha' as we used to call it at home. Mathew Jones, Bryn Eithin, suggested that I write a piece for Llais Ardudwy about the busy life of the forge when we were children. Having to…
