This was a trip to the peaks of the highest mountains in Scotland, England and Wales, namely Ben Nevis, Scarfell Pyke and Snowdon. The challenge was organized in memory of Jim Rees, Cae Gwastad, formerly of Tai Newyddion, Yr Ynys, a very popular man in the area. The idea of taking on the challenge came from David and Peter, Jim's sons, to raise money for Ward Alaw, Ysbyty Gwynedd, as a sign of appreciation for the care their father received there.

The lads were joined on the trip by Angela, Peter's partner, and Deborah and Gwynfor, Gwrach Ynys. Although the walking was hard, the hardest task was driving the 500 miles between the peaks, and that mainly during the night hours. The responsibility fell to Dic Morgan, Ty Cerrig and Peter Jones Llwyn y Ffynnon, and Lewis Hamilton could not have driven better. Despite the bad weather and having to climb Scafell in the dark and fog, the task was completed in just under 4 hours.

Although it was worth undertaking as a challenge, the intention was to collect money. The amount raised is around £6,000, and Theresa Rees, Jim's wife, and everyone from the team would like to sincerely thank everyone from the area who so generously supported the initiative.
