Cana Mi Gei - Local Choir

The Choir was formed in the early summer of 2010 and the ladies sing a variety of traditional and modern pieces.  With around 30 members, the conductor is Ann Jones, from Porthmadog and the accompanist is Elin Williams, from Talsarnau.  Many of the members come from the Ardudwy area and others come from Porthmadog, Tremadog and Penrhyndeudraeth.  The choir has sung in many local concerts and have also sung with the Radcliffe Ladies Choir from Nottingham.  They have also accompanied the Ardudwy Male Voice Choir on a visit to Galway, Ireland.

The choir meets every Tuesday evening at 8 o'clock to practice in the Talsarnau Community Hall.  If anyone would like to join the choir, please contact Ann Jones or any other member of Cana Mi Gei.

Cana Mi Gei

Many congratulations to the local ladies' choir, Cana Mi Gei, on their success in their very first competition. A Music Festival has been held annually at King's School, Chester for some years, and this year Ann Jones, the conductor decided that they would compete in the Ladies' Section on Saturday, May 17th 2014. The adjudicator was Prof. David Hoult, and he decided that 'Côr Cana Mi Gei' were the worthy winners. The prize was the Stamford Cup.  Many thanks to Ann Jones and to the choir's accompanist, Elin Williams for all their hard work.
